In appearance, it is a hard glassy solid at room temperature, but in practical applications, it also has various forms such as dry powder and colloid. Chemical Properties
Polyacrylamide is relatively stable to heat. Its solid state softens only at 220-230°C, and its aqueous solution does not significantly degrade until temperatures above 110°C.
Physical Properties
Solubility in Water: It readily dissolves in clean water under rapid mechanical stirring, forming a transparent, viscous solution. Degradation occurs at temperatures above 40°C.
Stability: It exhibits moderate hygroscopicity and can be stored for long periods in a ventilated, dry place.
Viscosity: The viscosity of a polyacrylamide solution is linearly related to its molecular weight.

1. Flocculation: PAM can effectively aggregate dispersed particles through electrical neutralization and surface adsorption. Product Precautions
1. Selection issues:
Different industries and application scenarios with different water qualities require the selection of appropriate PAM models. For example, when treating acidic sewage, cationic PAM may be more suitable; when treating alkaline sewage, anionic PAM may be more effective. Before use, be sure to conduct a small test and a machine test, and select the most matching model based on the experimental results to achieve the best treatment effect.
2. Dissolution issues
Dissolution water temperature: When dissolving PAM, the water temperature should not exceed 60°C, otherwise it may cause the molecular chain to break and affect its performance. Generally, it can be dissolved in room temperature water.
Dissolution time: It takes a certain amount of time for PAM to dissolve, and it should be stirred evenly to ensure that it is fully dissolved. The dissolution time of powdered PAM is usually between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the product model and stirring conditions.
Dissolution water: It is recommended to use clean tap water for dissolution to avoid impurities in the water affecting the dissolution effect and performance of PAM.
3. Dosing issues
Dosage: The dosage should be adjusted according to the actual situation, not the more the better. Too much dosage will not only cause waste, but also make the water viscous, affecting subsequent treatment; insufficient dosage will not achieve the expected treatment effect.
Dosing method: batch dosing is usually better than one-time dosing. For example, adding 60% of the agent for the first time and stirring quickly, and then adding the remaining 40% after 1-2 minutes can significantly improve the floc strength.
4. Storage issues:
PAM should be stored in a cool and dry place, avoiding direct sunlight and humid environment. At the same time, keep away from acid, alkali and other chemical substances to prevent chemical reactions. If the packaging is damaged, it needs to be replaced in time to prevent the product from absorbing moisture and agglomerating, which reduces the efficiency of use.
