Product Description
Polyacrylamide appears as white powder or emulsion and is easily soluble in water. It can be modified to form anionic, cationic or non-ionic derivatives to meet different application requirements. CAS 9003-05-8, common packaging is 25kg/bag or ton bag.
The common molecular weight range of polyacrylamide (PAM) is 5-18 million. The higher the molecular weight, the greater the viscosity. It is divided into three categories according to molecular weight: low, medium and high. The use effect needs to be selected according to the industry, water quality and equipment.
When used as a coagulant, the higher the molecular weight, the denser the flocs and the less the dosage, but the anionic PAM is recommended not to exceed 20 million. When dewatering sludge, the belt filter press requires a lower molecular weight to prevent the filter cloth from clogging, while the centrifugal filter press requires a higher molecular weight to resist shearing.
Polyacrylamide has multiple functions such as flocculation, thickening, drag reduction, and bonding. It is widely used in industrial sectors such as papermaking, mining, coal washing, metallurgy, and oil extraction. It is an important chemical for water treatment.

- In oil production, it can be used as an oil displacement agent to increase oil recovery rates.
- In the mining and coal preparation industries, it can be used as a clarifier for mine wastewater and coal washing wastewater.
- In the papermaking industry, it can be used as a dry strength agent, retention aid, and filter aid for paper, significantly improving paper quality, saving costs, and increasing paper mill production capacity.
