It is a white, non-toxic powder that is readily soluble in water, hygroscopic, and insoluble in common organic solvents. Chemical Properties
Polyacrylamide is relatively stable to heat. Its solid state softens only at 220-230°C, and its aqueous solution does not significantly degrade until temperatures above 110°C.
Physical Properties
- Solubility in Water: It readily dissolves in clean water under rapid mechanical stirring, forming a transparent, viscous solution. Degradation occurs at temperatures above 40°C.
- Stability: It exhibits moderate hygroscopicity and can be stored for long periods in a ventilated, dry place.
- Viscosity: The viscosity of a polyacrylamide solution is linearly related to its molecular weight.

Product Application
The application of polyacrylamide in the water treatment industry mainly includes raw water treatment, sewage treatment and industrial water treatment.
- In raw water treatment, polyacrylamide and activated carbon can be used for coagulation and clarification of suspended particles in living water.
- In sewage water treatment, polyacrylamide can be used for sludge dewatering;
- In industrial water treatment, organic flocculant polyacrylamide is used to replace inorganic flocculant, so as to avoid the deposition of inorganic substances on the surface of equipment and slow down the corrosion and scaling of equipment.
In petroleum exploitation, polyacrylamide is mainly used for drilling mud material and enhancing oil recovery, and is widely used in drilling, completion, cementing, fracturing, enhanced oil recovery and other oilfield exploitation operations. In order to improve oil recovery, polymer flooding and ASP flooding technologies are mainly promoted. By injecting polyacrylamide aqueous solution, the oil-water flow rate ratio is increased, and the crude oil content in the produced product is increased.
Polyacrylamide is widely used as retention aid, drainage aid, leveling agent, etc. in the field of papermaking. Its function is to improve the quality of paper, improve the dewatering performance of pulp, increase the retention rate of fine fibers and fillers, and reduce the consumption of raw materials and environmental pollution.
In mining and coal washing, polyacrylamide can be used as a flocculant to facilitate mining. Coal washing can recover the sedimentation of solid matter in water, clarify water, recover useful solid particles, and avoid environmental pollution.

Solid polyacrylamide is typically packaged in double-layer moisture-proof material lined with a thickened plastic film, with each bag weighing 25kg. Custom packaging is available upon request.
Storage Environment Requirements
- Temperature Control: Polyacrylamide should be stored in a dry, cool environment, ideally between 5°C and 30°C.
- Humidity Management: To prevent polyacrylamide from absorbing moisture, clumping, or degrading, the relative humidity in the storage area must be kept below 60%.
- Light Protection: Ultraviolet rays from sunlight accelerate the aging process of polyacrylamide. Therefore, the product must be stored in a warehouse out of direct sunlight and packaged or stored with opaque materials to block the effects of ultraviolet rays.
- Ventilation Requirements: Good ventilation should be ensured to maintain fresh air in the storage area, reduce dust concentrations, and prevent explosion risks.
